Where are you from?
I am from St. Paul, Minnesota.
When did you start experiencing hair loss?
I first started noticing my hair loss at 20 years old. My whole life, I had ULTRA thick hair. I even got my hair thinned as a kid to make it more manageable! So it was very noticeable to me when my hair started to thin out in my early twenties. I chalked it up to stress from being in college, as did my doctor. But even after I graduated and wasn't experiencing as much stress, my hair loss continued to progress.
By the time I turned 24, I was feeling hopeless about my hair loss. I so badly wanted to find a solution, but I didn't know what that was!
Who was the first person you told about your hair?
The first person I told about my hair loss was my parents. They are simply the most supportive and loving people in the world, so it was a no-brainer that I opened up to them first. Soon after, I opened up to my close friends. And ever since I've been dating my boyfriend, he's been nothing by supportive and my biggest cheerleader when it comes to wearing hair!
How did you find out about Lusta?
About a year ago, I discovered toppers and wigs while scrolling on Instagram and Lusta was one of the first alternate hair companies that I came across. I was amazed by how natural and simply GORGEOUS their pieces are. It took me several months to take the plunge into purchasing my first topper, and I started with a couple second hand pieces. But fast forward to today, I just received a custom Lusta wig AND topper (yep, I splurged on both), and I couldn't be happier!!
What would your advice be to other women with hair loss?
My advice to other women experiencing hair loss is to take the plunge into alternate hair! Do some research about what type of piece would work best for you (topper or wig, silk or lace top, best length/color, etc.), and just go for it ❤ And reach out to the amazing ladies at Lusta!! But regardless, with or without wearing hair, you are worthy and beautiful.
