Where are you from?

I am from Texas- From a city basically on the outskirts of Houston!

When did you start experiencing hair loss? What has your experience been since then?

My hair loss journey has been caused from illnesses. I first started experiencing hair loss when I was 18 years old. I had Covid, pneumonia, and bronchitis at the same time and was super sick! I got over it a little after Christmas, and then in January of 2021 my hair started to fall out in massive clumps. Probably in the span of a week I had lost a little over half of my hair. After a whole year, in January 2022... my hair was starting to come back a bit! Sadly, this past March I was hospitalized for a week after having an abscess cut into at an urgent care. The urgent care did not get all of the infection out, so I had sepsis! They also gave me a prescription that I was allergic to and I was diagnosed with Steven Johnson syndrome. After having surgery at the hospital, and having a super high fever the only thing I could think about was - MY HAIR! I was praying it would not fall out again, but sure enough about a week later it did. It’s been since late March and I am still losing hair. I’ve lost so much, and had less to begin with since it was my second hair loss experience in just a little over a year. I barely have any left, so I decided to look into wigs!

Who was the first person you told about your hair? How did it go?

My family knew about my hair loss after Covid, and this past time around because I told them but also it’s very noticeable. Since I’m only 20 years old, my friends are not experiencing the same thing but they were so supportive about alternative hair. My boyfriend was really supportive and has supported me throughout the whole process. I was really worried about what he would think because we first met after my hair fell out the first time! So he has never seen me with my “normal” amount of hair. My hair is also naturally curly, so the wig looks different, but I have always liked my hair straight too! Everyone in my life has been shocked at how good my piece looks!!

How did you find out about Lusta?

I found out about Lusta while searching Instagram for the best wigs, and I’m so glad I came across it!!

What do you love about wearing hair?

I love that I can throw on my game changer and feel normal again! I didn’t want to go out in public with the way my hair looks because I barely have any and you can see scalp everywhere… But with my wig I feel normal again and more confident!

What do you love about wearing hair?

Lusta has been a tremendous part of my hair journey! This is my first time ever experiencing wigs and Lusta is just amazing! I have chatted with Holly a couple times and everyone has been so much help. I love how y’all are so positive and make hair loss talked about! * By the way… read their downloadable eBook!!*

What would your advice be to other women with hair loss?

My advice would be just to embrace who you are! I’m still dealing with this myself, because as women hair is such a big part of our identity. You are way more than just your hair! Take the leap of faith and try a topper or wig if you have wanted to! It makes such a difference!
