My Hair Story
Let me start by saying, I've never liked my hair. Even before experiencing hair loss, my hair was very fine, stick straight, always on the thinner side, but I always had 'enough'.
In my 20's was the best my own hair ever looked, it was the longest I was ever able to grow it. Then...I put hair extensions in for my wedding and caused a whole lot of damage. But, my hair did eventually recover from that.
My early 30's was when I first noticed a change in my hair. After going off birth control, I was diangosed with Hashimoto's. I spent the next four years trying to get pregnant and my hormones were all over the place. So, I just kept my hair short to disguise the thinning.
Then, when I finally got pregnant I had 9 months of the most beautiful, healthy, shiny hair (thanks pregnancy!). But then...came the post-partum hair shed.
I don't think I had even recovered from my post-partum hair loss when I then had my first round of Telogen Effluvium. This is when my hair started falling out in clumps. I went to a trichologist and dermatologist who diagnosed me with Androgenic Alopecia. No matter what I did my hair just kept getting thinner and thinner.
I was so consumed by my hair loss. When I finally took the plunge to wear wigs, I never, ever looked back. Wearing wigs has completely changed my life.

Although I tend to reach for my wigs a bit more, I still love my topper! Unlike wigs, toppers are designed to blend with your own hair. They're an incredible choice for women who still want to see some of their own hair so that the piece feels more like 'them'. Toppers are super light-weight and easy to wear.
GETTING STARTED
The hair world can seem super overwhelming. Let's break it down.
The first thing is to decide between a topper or wig. Most women can wear a topper. A topper is blended with your own hair line and you wear your hair out with a topper. Wigs, on the other hand, can be worn by anyone and everyone. Wigs cover your hair and you don't need to blend your own hair line.

Next you'll think about colour. Lusta is always there to help with colour matching if you want to match the piece to your own hair- or can create a piece for you based on inspiration photos.

Then, we'll consider length. If you're a shopping for a topper, you'll want to choose a piece which is the length of your hair + 2 inches. This allows for your own hair growing. If you're shopping for a wig you can choose whatever length you like!

Finally, cap size. For toppers, the size of your head doesn't matter. Almost anyone can wear any topper cap size! The only exception to this is if you have a extra sensitive or bald spots where you can clip into. For wigs, your head size DOES matter. You can follow THIS video for measuring for wig size.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do wigs/toppers last?
Silk top pieces, AKA all Lusta toppers and the Game Changer wig, will last between 2-3+ years with good care.
Lace top pieces, AKA the Luxe Wig, are more delicate. These pieces will last approx 18 months.
