Where are you from?

Perth, Australia (but I grew up in Melbourne)

When did you start experiencing hair loss? What has your experience been since then?

I started losing my hair at 13 years old and was diagnosed with Androgenic Alopecia shortly after. Most of my teens and twenties were spent in denial, even as the hair loss progressed. I tried a lot of treatments and remedies, none of which worked for me long term. It wasn't until I stumbled across the Instagram hair loss community that I started to accept it and move on!

Who was the first person you told about your hair? How did it go?

Because I started losing my hair so young, my mum was the driving force behind my diagnosis and was also the first to know when I decided to buy my first topper. She has been incredibly supportive throughout this whole rollercoaster ride! Now, I've told basically everyone about my alopecia and alt hair, and I've never had a bad reaction!

How did you find out about Lusta?

I followed Kim before Lusta was a brand! I even have one of the OG toppers!

What do you love about wearing hair?

I love that it buys you time to process your feelings, gives you the freedom to choose not to take medications if you don't want, saves you time in the morning, and you have the ability to switch up your hair whenever you feel like it!

How has Lusta been part of your hair journey?

My Lusta topper was the first topper I felt comfortable to wear every day, which did wonders for my confidence and self-esteem, and ultimately gave me the courage to 'come out' about my hair. The community that Lusta has created is a really safe space for people to be themselves, including me!

What would your advice be to other women with hair loss?

Buy the hair! Wear the hair! Connect with women in the Instagam hair loss community.
