The Most Realistic Hair Toppers: Tips for Wearing Your Lusta Hair Topper

You're here because you're experiencing hair loss or thinning hair and you want to find a solution. Human hair toppers might just be your saving grace!

But, when you do a quick google search for 'hair toppers' the results can be a little mixed... You might see some toppers that look SO realistic that you can't even tell the hair is not their own. But then you also see toppers that look like a mop sitting on top of their head.

This makes you question whether hair toppers are going to be the right option for you. Will a hair topper just look like a fake mess? Or can it actually look realistic IRL?

I'm here to tell you that yes, human hair toppers can look SUPER realistic and natural.

BUT, it's important to remember that not all hair toppers are created equal. At Lusta, we only use the highest quality human hair and our cap construction is designed to lay super flat and look ultra realistic. Each hair topper at Lusta is handsewn. Yup, each hair is carefully sewn in by hand. It's a super intricate process which results in the most natural looking toppers ever. At Lusta, we want you to have the best of the best hair.

It can take a little bit of practice to make your hair topper look natural if you're a newbie to alternative hair. So, we wanted to take a moment to share our top tips for the most realistic hair topper.

  1. Find your 'sweet spot'

The position of your topper makes all the difference. You don't want it positioned too far back or too far forward. You need it to be just right. So, how do you find your sweet spot? Check out THIS video for finding the perfect position for your topper.

  2. Use a round brush to blend

Our favourite tool to blend your own hair with a topper is a round brush. This is the best type of brush as it picks up all your little baby hairs and seamlessly blends it with your topper. Incorporating your own hair line with the topper is what will give it the most natural look.

  3. Pull out baby hairs when doing up-dos

Up-dos, like ponytails and buns, are entirely possible with Lusta hair toppers. However, to make the piece look most natural you need to slightly adjust your technique. Sometimes you may find the edges of the topper look a bit 'harsh' when worn in an up-do. This is super easy to fix by just pulling out a few of your own baby hairs or baby hairs from your topper.

Test out these tips for yourself and let us know how you go!
