THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS
What goes into creating Lusta Wigs & Toppers?
Ethically Sourced Premium Remy Hair
Every bundle goes through strict Lusta quality checks, strand health, colour consistency, elasticity, and purity.
Anything that doesn’t meet our premium standard is rejected immediately.
Custom Lusta Colouring Process
Hair is coloured using multi-step, low-and-slow methods that mimic natural dimension.
Weft Sewing & Construction
Our wefts are sewn using a reinforced stitching technique unique to Lusta Hair over years. The Lusta wefts are designed to sit completely flat and never puffy.
Hand-Knotting the Hair
Our Lusta Artisans hand-knot individual hairs into the cap, one strand at a time. This is the most time-intensive part, requiring a steady hand and years of training.
Knot size, direction, and density are carefully controlled to create flat lay.

Manufacturing Process
Every Lusta piece begins with a meticulous, hands-on creation process crafted by highly skilled artisans who specialise in premium human hair. Each strand is carefully selected, blended and sewn with precision to create a piece that feels soft, natural and consistent in quality.
Our makers follow a detailed, multi-stage process that includes crafting the base, hand-tying or sewing the hair, and refining the density, movement and finish of the piece. Nothing is rushed. Every detail is designed to ensure your piece looks seamless and feels comfortable from the moment you put it on.
Step 2
In House Quality Control
When a piece arrives at Lusta, it goes through a rigorous in-house review to make sure it meets our exact standards. Our team checks everything from the colour blend and hair texture to the construction of the base and the placement of every clip.
Each piece is tried on, photographed and inspected under different lighting so we can be completely confident in what you are receiving. If something is not perfect, it never reaches the customer.
Step 3
Custom Colouring
Each piece is refined by our professional stylists to create Lusta’s signature multi-dimensional tones.
Soft blends, added depth and natural highlights are all crafted by hand to perfect the colour before it joins our curated collection. Each piece is treated with a custom Lusta formula and then thoroughly inspected to ensure consistency.
Step 4
Website Listings & Marketing
Once the collection has passed quality checks, it is photographed and filmed by our content team to capture its true movement and colour.
Every listing is created with accurate descriptions, clear measurements and real demonstrations so you can understand exactly what the piece will look like on you.
These visuals are shared across our website, social platforms and email channels to help you find your dream match with confidence.
Step 5
Shipped to Customer
Your piece is packed with care in our Adelaide headquarters along with helpful guides and information.
We ship using trusted carriers and update you every step of the way so you always know where your new piece is. From the moment it leaves our hands, we make sure it reaches you safely and quickly.
Step 6
Post-Purchase Support
After your piece arrives, our team is here to support you through every stage of your journey. We offer personalised unboxing calls to help you try on your piece for the first time, understand how it fits and answer any questions you may have.

Secretly coming to terms with my hair loss & embarrassment, I took a leap of faith and purchased my topper without a consult & colour match - needless to say, I have NOT been disappointed. I’m knew to the wig/topper world so everything is daunting and still finding my way.
This topper has been amazing. The colour is great, quality phenomenal and no one can believe it’s not mine (unless they previously knew me). My only downfall, is my scalp struggles with the clips slightly rubbing (most likely due to weight of topper and thinning of my hair). I wished I bought the wig instead - next time!

So I have to say that after five Lusta toppers I've ventured into my first wig. I absolutely love it. I put it on the way Kim puts it on and it works very well. The color is stunning and makes this old lady feel much much younger. The quality and comfort is amazing. This is straight out of the box I am not cutting it. I Don't Even Feel Bad About Losing My Hair Anymore
It took me couple of days to get used to my first one but after I got the cut and curls the right way for me it’s been so great! I’m so happy Lusta Hair popped to my Instagram feed. More Secure than the Twice-the-Price, Made-to-Measure Vacuum Bases.
I’ve had Alopecia Universalis since I was 5. I’ve worn vacuum-type human hair wigs since I was 12. This is my first Lusta piece, and I’m IN LOVE. The hair is chinchilla soft. The cut? Runway worthy. And I can report after a month of wearing that this base is lighter, more comfortable AND more secure than the twice-the-price, made-to-measure vacuum bases. Thank you, Lusta team.
