I recently put a call out on instagram for women who wanted to come in to Lusta HQ and share their story.
I was overwhelmed by the response.
Sharing your hair story isn't an easy thing to do. it requires courage and strength to share such a vulnerable side to you. But the women I got to meet were SO powerful.
Many of the women who came to chat with me were completely new to the world of alternative hair. They reminded me so much of me at the beginning of my own journey. We shared so many of the same emotions and perspectives.
Since finding alternative hair, my hair loss hasn't been nearly as disruptive to my life. Wearing hair toppers and wigs has truly allowed me to find peace and acceptance with my hair loss. But I can still remember how I felt when hair loss cosumed my life. I remember feeling so lost and worried. I remember feeling completely alone.
That's why I believe community is so important. Finding others who understand you and know what you're going through is game-changing. Sure, friends and family can be a great support in your journey. But finding people who are on the same path as you? Now that's powerful.
If you're feeling alone in your hair loss journey, I wanted to share some resources for finding your people (they're out there, I promise!).
